๐Ÿšง St. Lucie County officials are considering widening a 10-mile stretch of Glades Cut Off Road (County Road 709) from Range Line Road to Selvitz Road. The road currently has one lane in each direction, but the proposal would expand it to four lanes to handle increasing traffic as the county continues to grow.

๐Ÿš— The project aims to improve safety and accommodate future traffic growth over the next two decades. Officials are conducting a Project Development & Environment (PD&E) study, which evaluates data, alternatives, environmental factors, and public input before a final decision is made.

๐Ÿšด Two design options are currently being reviewed. Both would widen the road to four lanes and include a 12-foot shared-use path, while one option also includes 7-foot bike lanes in each direction. Officials will also evaluate all intersections along the project corridor as part of the study.
