🚧 Big growth is happening in Southern Grove in Port St. Lucie — and it’s happening faster than expected. When the city took over the land in 2018, officials believed development could take up to 30 years, but less than a decade later most of the land has already been spoken for. The jobs corridor in the Tradition area now spans about 1,200 acres, with only around 20 acres remaining.
🏢 Major companies have already moved into the area, including Amazon, FedEx, and Cheney Brothers, helping transform Southern Grove into one of the largest employment hubs on the Treasure Coast. Warehouses, distribution centers, and new construction now fill land that was once largely empty. Officials say the development has already brought thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in investment to Port St. Lucie.
🛒 Even more projects are on the way. City leaders recently approved selling 22.8 acres for $6 million to bring a Costco retail warehouse store to Southern Grove, which could include a gas station, pharmacy, and other services. Plans were also approved for a 52-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital with medical offices, expanding healthcare options in the city.
