Big news for Port St. Lucie! City leaders unanimously approved a purchase and sale agreement for about 22 acres of land in Southern Grove to bring a new Costco retail store to the city. The land deal totals $6 million, marking a major step toward delivering one of the most requested retailers from local residents.
The future Costco would be built east of SW Village Parkway and south of SW Marshall Parkway, next to a Costco distribution center currently under construction in the area. That distribution facility is expected to bring more than 500 jobs to Port St. Lucie.
The project adds momentum to the rapidly growing Southern Grove jobs corridor, where additional plans include restaurants, a hotel site, and other commercial development nearby. City leaders say the investment reflects Port St. Lucie’s growing population, rising incomes, and expanding economic profile.
